If you were born in late 80s or early 90s you must have watched these movies. Please keep in mind that animated movies like Lion King and Mulan etc are not part here
1 – JURASSIC PARK
This movie turned millions of kids and adults in dinosaurs lovers. Even I started reading about them and collecting dino toys etc just when i was in class 4. The robotic T-Rex is still terrifying and realistic as compared to the one shown recently in Jurassic World.
The second and third installment of this franchise were also impressive.
2 – JUMANJI
Jumanji was another blockbuster hit of its time. Each and every scene of that movie was amazing and the movie will keep you fixed on the chair even if you watch it now.
The creators tried to make a sequel named “Zathura” which was a big disappointment.
3 – THE MASK
Jim Carrey’s “The Mask” unleashed another exciting world. I saw my school fellows making paper masks and pretending to be the yellow colored funkiest superhero in the history. A sequel was also made but without Jim Carrey there is no MASK.
4 – THE MUMMY and MUMMY RETURNS
Brendan Fraser was adorable as Rick O’Connel, Rachel Weisz as the pretty nerd librarian and Arnold Voslo as the Mummy “Emhotep” set a bechmark nobody have been able to reach. It had the complete entertainment package with Western American elements mixed in the Egyptian soils. The second part “Mummy Returns” was also up to the mark and also had the People’s Champion “Rock” Dwayne Johnsnon as the Scorpion King.
Not gonna talk about the third installment.
5 – TERMINATOR
The name of Arnold Schwarzenegger was once enough to sell an action movie. Terminator was one of its kind, a futuristic approach show whats world gonna be like if we are too much dependent on machines. People loved Arnold in this series and started wearing leather jacket and shades. The movies of this series are still quite entertaining.
6 – CHILDS PLAY
The Chuky doll became a nightmare for every kids those days. Oh wait not just kids but also for adults. The franchise became boring, not at all scary but a family drama of the doll in the following installments but first 2 movies are still the best ones.
7 – GEORGE OF THE JUNGLE
Unlike the traditional Tarzan, George was a clumsy, funny man raised by apes who ruled the jungle. He later fell in love with Ursla and came to the city only to find out that he doesn’t belong to the civilized people. In the end love wins.
8 – BABY’S DAY OUT
The adventures of a kidnapped toddler makes it one of the most adorable movies ever made. People loved the cute baby and even the Gorilla was his fan.
9 – BACK TO THE FUTURE
The movie made people imagine what world would be like in the future. The adventures of Marty were amazing where he made his parents fall in love in the past and defeated the enemy.
10 – HOME ALONE
A kid was left alone at home and protected his home from being robbed. The intelligence of that kid inspired a lot of us those days to learn things and tricks.
I may be forgetting a few good names so feel free to comment and suggest more and we will write a second part of this blog.
