Meet Pakistan’s Casey Neistat

In the age of social media, many people try their hands at becoming social media sensations. Only very few are able to succeed in this mission. One such person is the rising Youtuber and vlogger of Pakistan who has been “not coming slow” since the day he started.

…….. Yes, that’s Irfan Junejo!

Junejo, as most people call him, started his channel in January 2017 with 0 subscribers. Today, almost a year down the line, he has reached almost 51,000 subscribers. Some of his videos have even received 590K views! He says he takes inspiration from the American Youtuber, filmmaker and vlogger Casey Neistat but he has made an identity of his own with his unique style.

The popular phrases Junejo uses such as Han Bhaiyya, Scenez kuch aise hain and Not Coming Slow have become his identity among the youth.

His vlogs have cinematic views, quality music and most of all, make you connect to him. The way he showcases a day in his life makes you feel like you are a part of it. He recently made a vlog with the Lyari Underground Boys which became a huge success. It was shared by Asifa , Bakhtawar and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari too.

In one of his vlogs, Junejo shared that he dropped out of MBA. The reason was because he felt that the motto of the knowledge being taught in class was just to get a job, rather than teaching practical knowledge and skills . Afterwards he worked at a software house, did freelance work and finally bought his dream bike, a Yamaha R6.

Various universities have invited Junejo to talk about his journey and motivate young talent. He has been a speaker at TEDx NUST and recently, he came to my university, NED-UET (YAYY!!). Junejo shared that he began his career with wedding photography and consequently realized his potential of creating entertaining content. He ended his talk with a message:

If you want to achieve something, don’t make excuses to yourself; just start making efforts and slowly, if you keep trying, your struggle will pay off.
